Had a very comfortable night considering. Crawled out of bed to get to the airport for our 7am flight to London. We now experienced 2 further technical delays with the plane that held us up until 830. Instead of arriving at Heathrow airport at 9pm we arrived at 945 pm as they managed to pick up some time by only having a one hour stop at Dubai and then, according to the pilot, flew at a faster speed than normal over Europe. It was midnight by the time we got into our hotel room at Heathrow only to have to get up the next morning at 4am AGAIN for a 7am flight to Madrid. As we arrived at terminal 5 the next morning we saw that we could have selected a hotel within walking distance of the hotel which would have allowed us to have more sleep.
Two positives for the day:
1. We finally got to Europe
2. Very few people on the flight so lots of spare seats to spread out

alister A hotel bed at Heathrow for 4 hours!!!!!!
Bruce and Anne Yep, we were also annoyed especially as we had access to the BA lounge at T5. Had pre booked hotel from Sydney which is really unnecessary considering the number of hotels there now are at airports. Would have been more time to sleep had everything gone to plan on the second attempt to get to LHR.
