Cuba - More than old cars
We are on our way although not without some drama. The day before leaving we had to get an urgent visit by a plumber as we had a problem 'poop up' with the sewer system. The blockage was quickly resolved however. Living amongst the trees, as nice as it is, comes with some niggly issues from time to time. The next issue was with our phones. We organised a travel sim thinking that we would call forward one of our phones to the new UK number. This became problematic as after a number of calls to our mobile phone provider, including one from Australia, we were told we could not call forward to an overseas number - so much for technology. We have sorted out a work around but it does not provide all the functionality we wanted.
We organised a 1 night stopover in Sydney on our flights to London for a number of reasons and this allowed us to catch up with a good friend who we had not been able to meet up with earlier in the year when we were there. We met Daphne at a cafe/restaurant in Alexandria called The Grounds. If you are visiting Sydney you should head down there. During our one night there the Liberal party also decided to replace their leader and Prime Minister Tony Abbot with Malcolm Turnbull. They seem to have a new PM every other year.
The 2 Singapore Airlines flights to London went smoothly. Great in-flight service on this airline. We arrived in London on a somewhat gloomy day and got a taxi to Anne's sister's place where we blobbed out for the day and caught up with one anothers news. So far we have not seen andy indication that the Rugby World Cup is on at all. No advertising of any kind at the airport or during our taxi trip.

Gael How fun are these!
Gael Great to hear you've got all those problems behind you - let's hope the rest of your trip is plain sailing - so to speak! I could hear the frustration in Anne's voice when I rang the day before - now I understand why. Talk about Murphy's Law! I can assure you the Rugby World Cup IS ON! Ron's watching it right now! Good to hear from you - take care.
