Tok, Alaska to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory - 387 miles

Day 85

We knew that today was going to be a long day.We headed back into Canada towards Whitehorse our destination for today.The frost heaves in the road were as expected…horrible.We could not travel more than 30 mph…very slow.As we go closer to Canadian customs we hit a section of highway that was gravel and dirt for about 20 miles.The dust was unbelievable!

Surprise, we cleared Canadian customs with no waiting.On the way into Canada customs held us up about 45minutes.

The road conditions continued to amaze us as we crawled toward Whitehorse.We drove along Kluane Lake with its beautiful blue green color and stark rocky vistas.The roads improved a little here.We arrived without a reservation at an RV Park around 6pm and had to try a couple parks before finding a spot to put up for the night.

Tired from the long day; glad to have put the frost heaves behind us we settled in for dinner and a movie…ha…simple things.

It was beautiful!
