Grand Forks, ND to Roblin, Manitoba, Canada-399 Miles

Day 59

Today we entered Canada from North Dakota to Manitoba.We had all our documents ready for customs.Everything was examined very thoroughly.Abbie and I sat on a bench outside while Hugh and the border agent went thru every area of the RV.The agent even went through our dirty laundry and garbage……YUCK!Along with being thorough the agent was very nice.Thank heavens Abbie didn't growl at him.In 45 minutes we were trekking once more.

In the afternoon we stopped at a McDonalds that served Thai food.That was a first for me.The money exchange was confusing.We hadn't thought to exchange our money before crossing into Canada.We have relied on the good nature and honesty that seems to be prevalent with the Canadians.

We traveled for hours on the flat prairie highways.The fields of crops passing displaying vivid colors as they were in full bloom.As we approached our destination west of Roblin, the road dropped into a beautiful deep valley filled with a dammed up river called Lake of The Prairies.It is 30+ miles long.We reached Rickers Campground about 7:30pm.Rickers sits at about the halfway point on the lake where a bridge crosses from Manitoba to Saskatchewan.

We set up camp and were fortunate enough to have plenty of daylight left to enjoy.It did not get dark until 11:00pm that night.

Our site was on a hill overlooking the lake which presented us with great views.It was beautiful!
