We both woke up feeling pretty rough from the drinks last night. We went for breakfast and started to get ready. We have to be at the ‘Welcome to the fabulous Las Vegas’ sign by 1.00pm to get married there! We were supposed to recieve a text message to confirm it was still taking place but we hadn’t got one. James rang but no answer, we set off anyway hoping for the best. Dressed in our matching Bride and Groom spray painted t-shirts with James in a Hawaiian shirt and me in a Las Vegas skirt and we were ready to go. We got a taxi and they rang from the Wedding Wagon to say they would be there, we got dropped off and the place was busy. The sign is on an island in the middle of a pretty busy road. They apparently had to make a car park here because so many people were stopping traffic to take photos. There was a queue to take photos with the sign and a bloke in a big bird suit sat for photographs. We wandered around, they hadn’t got here yet so we found a bit of shade and waited. It was just gone 1.00pm when the Wedding Wagon turned up, we met Rev James and Rev Andy. They had polo shirts on with Wedding Wagon symbol on and Rev Andy had a summer hat on. We talked to them for a while and gave our paperwork. We went over to the side of the sign to have a few photographs and then they said they’d do the ceremony right there. It was so casual, rather then James he used Jim throughout the ceremony. The script he said was quite cool and he said it very casually. It was over with in 15 minutes and we were husband and wife. We took some more photographs and Rev Andy finished the paperwork. In Nevada you don’t actually sign at your own wedding. That was it, paperwork and ceremony done. We asked them about somewhere to eat tonight and they suggested a French restaurant in the Paris hotel. We said that would be perfect as we have the Eiffel Tower tickets. We said goodbye to them and they said our photos would be available in three days and in 10 days we can send off for the certificate. They called us a cab and we waited, on the way out we got a photo with big bird to remember the day by too. The cab never came so we walked to a nearby hotel and managed to get one there. We were both dying for a drink and the happy taxi driver offered us a bottle of cold water. So kind of him, we needed that! On the drive back to our hotel the driver stopped at some lights and gave a homeless man a sandwich and a dollar, what a nice man. We chilled back at our room for a little while updating facebook and letting people know. This took more time than we thought it would. Once we were ready we headed out to the Paris casino. We walked there and by that point there wasn’t that long left on our Eiffel Tower tickets and we were really hungry so we went to upgrade the tickets for later on tonight then we can eat something first. We went to the suggested restaurant and had a steak each, which were amazing. The waiter brought us a dessert to share to celebrate our day. It was a profiterole with hazelnut and chocolate cream and orange ice cream, it sounds strange but it was so very good. We paid up and went back to the casino, we played the slot machines for a bit until it got dark before we went to go up the Eiffel Tower. We rode the left up the 50 floors to the top where there was an observation deck to walk around. The strip looked amazing from up here, we got up just at the right time as we found a spot to look out we could see the lake in front of The Bellagio really clearly. The fountain display had just started and we got to watch it from up here which was brilliant. We stayed to take in the sights and got someone to take a couple of photos of us up there. Then headed back down, we went across to actually have a look in The Bellagio hotel and casino which was very fancy. On the way out it was just about time for the fountains again so we leant on the wall surrounding the lake and watched from there. After this we decided it was time to go back to our hotel, we were done in. It was really nice, the number of people who had read our t-shirts and congratualted us. We treated ourselves to a taxi back.
