We got up early ish this morning and went for breakfast, then got on our way to the car rental place which was about a 15 minute walk from our hotel. We picked the car up and came back to the hotel. It’s very similar to the last car we rented earlier in the US. We got our things together and then set off. We had a few jobs to do, going to a supermarket, visiting down town Vegas and get registered so we can get married while we’re here. The wedding registration was really quick and easy, as we’d already applied online it was even quicker, $60 later we had all the paperwork we needed and it only took ten minutes of our time. We went to downtown Vegas where we finally found somewhere to park for free. We went into a few places here, we went to the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino which has the world’s largest golden nugget on display. It is enormous and was found by a family on their holiday in Australia. In this casino they even had a cash machine that you put your card into and got small gold bars in return! We walked around and saw the hotel pool, this thing had a shark aquarium in the middle of it with a slide running through it! We had a look at Binion’s Hotel and Casino too. This place gave $20 of free play on some of their machines, for losing the $20 you got a concelation prize of a free photograph with a case of $1 million in cash. We got two free photos. We had a walk around the whole area. The place in the middle of all of this is called Freemont Street which is pedestrianised and has a roof with thousands of lights which came on throughout the night. I think it also had around three stages with different bands playing. There were also loads of people dressed up in fancy dress (some of them really should have had more clothes on than they did) and having photographs taken for tips. We seemed to spend ages here looking around. I think we actually prefer downtown area to the strip. We found a guy who spray paints t-shirts, we got one each to get married in, they are going to look awesome. We ended up setting off back to the hotel around midnight, the great thing was we were only about a five minute drive away using the freeway. Showers then bed.
