We got up again fairly early as the car has to go back today. We went downstairs to have breakfast which was included and then came back up to the room to pack a bag. The airport is where we have to take the car back to which is around five miles away. Our plan for saving money is to walk back if we can. So we got our things and drove to the airport, it was signed really well to the rental returns place. Everyone just takes their car back to the same sort of multi storey car park thing and every so often there will be a turn off for the different companies. We drove in, there was a guy who scanned the car, we had a couple of dints which he pointed out. We’d not noticed them at all so he filled out a form and said this was just for our protection. That was it, given back, he asked where we were going and he said there was a free shuttle service. We went to ask about it and within 10 minutes we were in a car getting taken back to our hotel, much better than walking and just as cheap. Back at the hotel I managed to get some laundry done, the first time since New Zealand! We organised our bags and photos on the computer. The phone rang in the room, it was reception saying we had only booked for one day and we would need to check out. James said he thought he had booked for two days and that he would check and get back to them. He looked and found out he had made a mistake and instead of booking for two nights he’d only booked for one and they had no rooms left now so we would have to check out. I packed while James looked to see if there was anywhere close by we could get a room for tonight, we finished packing, it was about 2.00pm by now. Our new hotel was just half a mile walk away but we did have all of our bags. The walk was fine and we were checked in and in our room within an hour of being told we had to check out. So it wasn’t so much of a disaster, we spent part of the afternoon organising things and part swimming in the pool. When we started to get hungry we decided to go out. We’d read about a not so ‘secret menu’ at a restaurant at the Hard Rock Casino which wasn’t so far away from us. We walked to the casino, we had to sign up for a backstage pass where you get more points the more you play the machines. We played some slot machines for a while, the casino was huge and awesome with lots of music memorabilia around. They have the most awesome collection of Beatles memorabilia. After we’d played for a bit we went to Mr Lucky’s restaurant and ordered their 777 special, which was surf and turf for $7.77. It was really good, after eating we walked around the casino and played more machines. We also got quite a few free drinks while we were sat playing, we just gave $1 tip to the waitress. Some of the jackpots avaliable are unbelievable, you can win $11 million on some machines!! Unfortunately our luck wasn’t in and we were down on our money. We cut our losses and headed back to the hotel around 11.00pm. Had a coffee when we got in and went to bed.
