Brenton Kovacs's Travels
5th
Well i did not get much sleep after arriving back to 1am and having to be ready to go at 8am. I walk to the music hall where the bus departs from. Its only a small bus today, just 9 of us.
We drive for over 2 hours in the darkness before we arrive at at the southern most point of Iceland. The beach here is black sand. The views are stunning, but its minus 18c. No wind yet.
We see a few waterfalls and we see a glacier. I stay in the bus for the glacier as its a 20 minute walk an the wind is howling. Wind chill factor must be minus 20c or lower. I keep the bus running to stay warm, and this is appreciated by the others when they return frozen to the core. Even the tour guide is frozen, and she is Icelandic.
The scenery is stunning and its hard to capture it all. We dont arrive back to Reykjavik till 6.30pm. It was a long but enjoyable day. Just a pity it had to be sooo cold

Well it had to happen didnt it. I have a nasty cold. It hit me last night and i spent much of the day resting. I did go for a walk to get some lunch from Subway, and then the supermarket to get some tea. Was in bed and asleep by 9pm

Feeling a little better. Nothing planned today, so i am going to rest and shake off this cold. I fly out tomorrow to Tromso, Norway. Its 300ks inside the arctic circle and only 2,000ks from the North pole. I am hoping to get a better view of the Aurora.
Doesnt look like i will be affected by the storms in Europe. Lots of delayed flights.
