Brenton Kovacs's Travels
12th
I will be sad to leave Interlaken. It offered so much scenery in a small accessible part of Switzerland. My train leaves at 10am and i am taking the same scenic route i came in. It travels through Luzern, where i have to make a train change.
I arrive at Zurich airport and spend a few hours in the Swiss Business lounge compliments of Citibank. The food is good, the coffee is bad. At least i have very comfortable surroundings to while away the time.
Now comes the joys of flying. Our flight has been delayed due to mechanical faults. We are delayed by 1.5 hours. I have grown fond of travelling by train. No need to be there 2 hours before, no baggage check-in, no security checks, no queues, no waiting half an hour or longer for your bags.
Anyway i arrive in Vienna and my driver is waiting for me. It takes half an hour to arrive at my accommodation for the next 5 nights. It is a multi-level Penthouse apartment that has just been renovated. I can see i will enjoy my stay here!

My first day in Vienna is one full of clear skies, bright sunshine and a rather chilly minus 2. Now going by the weather report the next few days could be wet, so i must make the most of this glorious day. The walk to the Historic centre is about 20 minutes. Luckily i found a walking map on the internet which i have with me.
There are some absolutely magnificent buildings and pristine parks. I have taken countless pictures, so hopefully some will be good. Now as it has been minus 2 and its hard to have gloves on while using a camera, my hands are so cold that they are starting to hurt. I also have a brain freeze type headache from the cold crisp air.
Seen enough today so i head back home to rest my feet. According to google i walked 10ks today.

Just spent the last few days wandering the streets of Vienna. I have covered north, south, east and west with a radius of 5 kilometres or more from my accommodation.
Off to Budapest tomorrow by train.
