Had a sound filled night at Charlton - pub band, night trucks, night trains, possums, cockatoos, kookaburras....

Fri 18/4/2014 Nanna & Poppy arrived at 8.30am. An hour to pack up and then we all set off for Mildura at 9.30am. Stops: Sealake for fuel, and Hadleigh? for toilet and snacks. Arrived at Deakin Big4 Caravan Park, Mildura at 1.15pm; travelled 282kms, nice sunny day 23oC. Yub, Dee and kids were already here setting up their camper trailer. Took 3 hours to do a full caravan setup with annexe, wardrobes, gazebo etc to fit 7 of us in. Then time for Happy Hour and pizzas for dinner. In bed by 9pm, getting chilly out.

Sat 19/4/2014 Good sleep had by all, night temp got down to 4oC. Kids awake at 6.30pm, ipods kept them occupied until 7.30pm then everybody up; am sensing this may be the morning pattern in our cosy, shared space! Did some supermarket shopping then lots of jumping pillow action for kids - they have made several friends already. The girls have befriended a 15 y/o boy named Jake who "bounces everyone really high on the jump pillow, so fun!" Hmmm..... Lukas' minecraft t-shirt seems to have attracted every minecraft nerd staying at the park - he is now conducting lessons of an afternoon for 'mates' Ryan & Hayden in the gazebo. Poor Ellie was unwell, but Jack had a ball jumping with the girls.

"Speed Week" runs in Mildura over the Easter break - Dragsters, Nitrus Racers, Speed Boats and Motor Cross. We went to the MotorX tonight. Saw Bilko & J.O. from the FMX Team do jumps display, then watched racing and visited the pits; chilly, but great time had by all.
