Fri 19/09/14 Left Buronga at 10am, stops at Ouyen and Horsham, arrived at Halls Gap Lakeside C/Van Park around 4pm with the sun streaming through the trees; such a beautiful spot. Setup van, lit our camp fire early and watched the mob of kangaroos boxing on the paddock next to us. Sun 14/09/14 Shorter drive today, only approx. 350kms. Left around 9.30am, GPS compass said go left? navigators 'body compass' said go right, (which we did), GPS re-set itself...everyone happy. Empty plains with not much to look at, counted 35 emus and many, many. many wild goats wandering the roadside. Mon 08/09/14 Slow out the gates this morning. K treated herself to some opal earrings, have to have some opal from CP; on the road by 10am. 37oC and 45km/hr winds....not a comfortable driving day ... tail wind for some stretches, then van/car blown around by cross winds on others.
