Fri 19/09/14 Left Buronga at 10am, stops at Ouyen and Horsham, arrived at Halls Gap Lakeside C/Van Park around 4pm with the sun streaming through the trees; such a beautiful spot. Setup van, lit our camp fire early and watched the mob of kangaroos boxing on the paddock next to us. Kids kicked footy and rode bikes before dinner, then dined around our fire before heading up to the camp kitchen and its awesome, large HOT fireplace to watch footy final. However TV reception was bung, so we settled for the chatting by the fire with some fellow campers for a while before heading for bed. Cold, cold night - zero degrees!

Sat 20/09/14 Woke to a crisp, sunny morning. Large flock of cockatoos zooming around ... they are obviously used to people as they will land on your arm when offered food. LBA threw out some bread crumbs and soon had a crowd of cockies all around them. Went out for a drive around Halls Gap, showing the kids all the places we visited when we honeymooned here 12 years ago. Had a tasty lunch and an ice cream in town then kids had a play at the park. Fabulous sunny day....the mountains look amazing towering over the township. Visited Silverband Falls, toured the Cultural Centre, found the stone villa where we honeymooned, walked the dam wall at Lake Bellfield then settled in fishing to 'spin' for trout for the afternoon. K had the only success, landing a 40cm brown trout - which will be taken home and smoked - yummo! Headed back to c/van park, kids had a jump on the trampolines, rode their bikes, we had kick of the footy and then got the fire going. Awesome day, would have like more time here now the weather has improved, but kids are adamant we going home tomorrow - will just have to come back another time! 3oC tonight, so an improvement! Toasted the last of our marshmallows over the campfire, before putting some very excited little people to bed - 1 sleep to go and tonight is it!

Sun 21/09/14 Kids are bursting out of their skin...our last packup ... we drive home today!
