I'm sitting here about to leave work on my final day, and I can only think of the "Summer of George" Seinfeld episode, where George gets severance from the Yankees and has the summer off. Well, I don't have severance, and didn't actually even get fired, nor do I work for the Yankees, but the parallel seems apt. Plus I really like Seinfeld. But I hate the Yankees. I'd love to get a job in their front office and secretly work from the inside as a saboteur to destroy the franchise. But a quick check of the AL East standings tells me that Brian Cashman and the boys are doing a pretty good job of that themselves...
Anyway, I'm leaving soon, but I'm sure that the Edens "Express"-way has one more traffic jam in store for me today, just as a lovely parting gift. But Andrew, you ask, why would there be traffice mid-day on a Friday? Oh, don't worry, there will be...
(oh, Alcatraz represents work in a thematic sense, not my specific job. I liked my job, actually. The guys I work with took me out for a great dinner and drinks, and now I'm starting my summer with a headache.)
