Today we packed up and left Yellowstone and headed south, where we are meeting the group we are backpacking with beginning Sunday evening. This morning we left camp and headed toward the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, passing the Heyden Valley on the way, where we'd read was a good place to see wildlife. Uh, yep. Today we went to see Old Faithful early in the morning before there were too many people around We made use of the continuous shooting mode on the camera again. Today we left Rexburg and drove to Yellowstone National Park. We didn't have to wait long before we started to see wildlife.Within ten minutes of entering the park, we saw two bald eagles and their nest. From Hill City, we drove past Mt. Rushmore and took some more photos, then did a quick driveby of Deadwood, which actually was surrounded by hills full of dead standing trees (called "stags" - Bethany note), then drove through the Spearfish Canyon on our way back north to I-90.
