The journey to the South Rim Grand Canyon didn't take as long as we thought, a mere 2 hours. After a night of lightning, thunder and heavy rain we were glad to finally see the sun again. However, the very nice Park Ranger on the entrance broke the news gently telling us with a smile that a snow storm was on its way!!! It was pretty cold but we thought nothing could be as cold as Yellowstone, so we checked into our campsite and then headed out to the Desert View ...

We arrived in Monument Valley late afternoon and a storm was already building. Ray Ray had already endured a sandstorm but there was more to come! Neither of us knew what we were expecting from Monument Valley but it just didn't do it for us. Nikki's mum has told me many times that I will never win the lottery.... Well today I did!!! Page Arizona was our next destination after leaving the North Rim and so far it has not disappointed. Arrived yesterday at the North Rim Grand Canyon campsite, drove 40 miles through the most beautiful forest and meadows (no bears thankfully, nothing for them to eat in this area apparently, Bens gutted!)
