Today we got up and headed to Regina Cape which is the most northerly point in New Zealand, this took us about an hour and was an amazing drive that winded along the ridge of a mountain. Once there we walked down to the lighthouse which had an amazing view of the sea and had the must have sign that show's the distance to other cities. A few snaps and an appreciation of the view and we jumped back in the car and headed for the sand dunes near by. Here we cooked up some lunch had a look at the dunes and made our way back down south to our next campsite.
On the way back we took a detour to take one of the most interesting roads I've seen yet.... A beach, 90 mile beach to be precise. This is a long stretch of beach that is accessible as a road and it's long, not 90 miles but not far off! We took it in turns to drive the integra along the sand and loves every second of it - we however took an exit a little too early and ended up doing a little off roading in a car that wasn't really suitable. We did however manage to find our way back to the main road and head in the right direction. The next couple of hours were filled with the, now standard, amazing views and an amazing windy mouton road which left you feeling like you were on a roller coaster! We finally arrived at our forest surrounded campsite and set up for the night. A few beers and a chicken curry later and we were ready to hit the hay!
