38 degrees and the bed is smelling of puke. Lizet feels really bad and I have a huge headache. Yesterday was our first night out on the our trip. We met 2 guys from Holland and started drinking with them. Suprising that the beer price is not as cheap as chips. 70 baht (1.85) you can have A 3 course menu for that.
2 days earlier we sat on the train for 14 hours to get here, luckily it was with air conditioning. We've seen much of the country in those hours and even went through the jungle. Fitting that there was a guy who looked like mowgli sweeped the train every half an hour.
We booked a hotel called the panda hotel for that night. And for anyone travelling to chiang main I would strongly advise them to stay away. Because we arrived late they sold our room. They gave us the last room they had. But when we opened the door it smelled like we entered in one of the Pitts of hell. Awfull!
Now we are at a way better guest house called junior house. Jeff the manager arranged a scooter for us and a day of taking care for an elephant which we will do tomorrow.
It is Thai new year which means that there are literally thousands of people on the streets with water guns and buckets of water wetting each other. They throw water at scooters tuk tuks and cars and well basically at everything. Being an outsider and white as we are is not helpfull in this situation either. It loomed like the peoe of chiang mai turned against us we were a constant target.. So we have been soaked the last few days. In the beginning of the festival it was nice and fun to soak each other but after the Thai drink they get really annoying. Aim for the eyes of scooter drivers which is really dangerous. No surprise that the average death toll of the songkran festival is around 250 with at least a 1000 people injured. Insane!
