Short but definitely worth it. Singapore was amazing. The moment we got of the train we were strictly monitored and it was made sure that if you tried to smuggle drugs you would get the death penalty. There was no joking. On everything there was a fine, it was illegal to take chewing gum, no spitting and no foul language otherwise 1000 dollars. Honest as we are we decided to not take the risk and declare our dirtcheap cigarettes. 7 dollars tax per package 77 dollars in total. It costed us 10 euros (15 dollars) to buy them in langkawi. Of course urse we threw them away. But at the custom declarence office it seemed like a big event. Everyone was coming out to join and rip the packages apart. Cigarette for cigarette were broken into pieces. They were thoroughly enjoying themselves. In the end we thanked them for doing their job and made our way to the sub.
We had booked our guesthouse in advance and were staying in little india. It was literally like being in india. After we found our guesthouse we went into the city to clarkes quay. It was the district were a lot of partying was going down.We went to the most famous nightclub to see a yo mamma battle. Sadly for us there wasnt one at the time we visited so we just watched Asian people getting loose.
The day after was time to see singapore city. During the whole day we were thinking of comparisons between singapore and other cities and countries in the world. So far we had: The New York of south east asia, The Switzerland of the south and sometimes the slumbs of india. Reason being there are many tall buildings brand new and they are constantly building new ones. Their subway system is huge for such a small country and super easy to use. Their are countless shopping malls, especially for the really big brands. And a lot of expensive watches, most of them we never heard of. Little india was tons of fun, there are almost no women on the street because 90% is immigrant working for their family at home. Also 95 % of the population in little india has a moustache and a golden necklace. 70 % is vegetarian and 100% of little india doesn't sweat the small stuff, the big stuff neither. Actually as I said before it seemed to us they don't care about anything.
Our days were filled with activities.
A light show at marina bay, windowshopping at orchard road, having the best nutella milkshake at somerset, the biggest aquarium in the world on sentosa island and a day of watercove park sliding down water slides.
And now we are here waiting on the plane to go to Sydney. Only a few days planned and not sure were to go. Maybe a walkabout in the great outback, or a trip to the great barrier Reef. No idea yet. As always we'll keep you posted!
