Another beautiful day in Malta traveling around in the beep beep Barina with Miriam and Iro. Today we went into the capital Valetta in the morning before stopping at the Mosta Dome. Apart from being a nice big church, the Mosta Dome is most famous because in 1942 during the war a bomb was dropped on the church, it went right through the ceiling and landed in the middle of the floor - but it didn't explode. No one was killed or injured and it's considered to be a bit of a miracle. In the afternoon we headed to Mdina, it's a beautiful walled city with a large cathedral, then we went to the cave the St Paul lived in when he was ship wrecked on Malta just shy of 2000 years ago and this is where our story turns Maltese...
We got there a little late and it was shut but the adjacent church was open so we went through the church whilst the rosary was being said and snuck down. The lights were off so Miriam just starts switching on all the switches she sees til she found all the ones that she was after. She would have opened the gate too if she could have found the keys! No doesn't always mean no here! We did get to see it though!
