On our drive to Queenstown, the views were amazing and the sun was shining for a change. It was a long 5 hour drive and we were pleased when we arrived and were settled in the campsite.
The following day we drove to Arrowtown, about half an hour down the road and we went for a nice walk around a little river. We found a lovely little French cafe which did pancakes and Orangina (& Ant was dying for a Galette!) so we treated ourselves to lunch there whilst sitting in the sun - Bliss!
In the afternoon we went on the skyline (other option a steep walk for a few hours - no thanks!) and then on the luge. The first go round was on the 'beginners' course which was quite fun but then we were allowed to go on the pro course, which had massive jumps which meant you went even faster round. That said, Ant still managed to go past me laughing his head of at my Hare type speed! Slow and steady wins the race and doesn't get gravel rash on their face is my motto! lol...
In the evening we went to the Casino and had a few drinks, trying to win a mint. Didn't quite go to plan, although as usual Ant was up on his wins. Unfortunately he listened to his drunk girlfriend saying 'ah just put another ten in' hoping that we would win big just before leaving. So in the end we left with nothing except a dry mouth and an empty pocket! Ce la vie...
