First day of the big trip!

We had arranged for a car to pick us up from the Prince Albert at 6am. It was early, and so we got to the Novotel at Hammersmith at about 6:15. It was pretty hard to miss the massive orange truck in the carpark! We loaded our bags onto the truck with the tent and sleeping gear in separate compartments and headed back to a cafe to pick up some breakfast. By the time everyone arrived and got organised and met the tour leaders Steve and Adam, it was about 8am.. we headed out of London along the M3 (back past Whitton again) and around the M25 towards Dover. The truck is quite comfortable, quite a bit of leg room and just enough to put a bag under the chair. A bit noisy with vibrations inside but i'm sure we'l get used to it. The speed is limited to around 50mph so it feels like it's going quite slowly along the motorway.
