The Christmas lessons have started. The kids in Anuban primary were ecstatic when they were told they were going to make Christmas cards. Though, many of them didn't look all that Christmassy. I taught the Cumphai kids the basic Christmas vocab like stocking, snowman and Christmas tree. Sang jungle bells with the anuban primary kids today which they already kind of new already. Though whenever they got to the last line, the wold just mumble the word and then shout "HEY!!". It was quite cute really. With less than a week to go, I'm definitely getting in the Christmas mood. Our house is almost fully decorated though still got put up our giant paper chain. We have Thursday off so we will give the house a complete tidy and clean so it is at least presentable for our five guests on Saturday.
So Friday just been, we went to kutchum for a little sleepover. Watched anchor man which was of course awesome. And slept with three of us in one bed with one cover. It was a surprisingly cold night and I had to sleep with my trackies on. Obviously, cold over here is nothing like cold in Edinburgh, but it was still cold.
Then on Saturday night we all went to a party and got dragged into doing karaoke. They love karaoke over here and me and fleur have managed to avoid it until last Saturday. The four of us went on stage and sang "my heart will go on" and "I'm flying without wings". It could have gone worse although we stopped half way through "flying without wings" as we helped get a giant beetle that got stuck in clara's hair out. Some of the other guest got up and danced like mad people which was fun. We met an English man who was pretty wasted before we even got there. He seemed to love the thai people so much that he had turned against the British and basically said that we were all racist. We got a bit bored of him after an hour of him repeating the same thing over and over again.
The party was actually for a little baby who had just had a serious operation and was apparently really ill, and might not survive (according to the drunk English man) so we went to his room and tied a little white string with 100 baht tied in it to bless him. It was technically a blessing ceremony. Some monks were there chanting earlier on as well to help. It was quite cute. Though a bit ironic that the blessing ceremony was pretty much a party that would go on all night and probably keep the baby awake. But the thought was there.
We finally have our water meter back and our own water supply for the first time in over 3 weeks. Also, our visa's are sorted. We are legally allowed to stay in the country until 17th of august, so it a good think we're getting on a plane on the 15th. Its good to have everything sorted. Although it would have been nice to take a boarder run to laos to get another 3 month visa.
Christmas in 2 days!!
