Thai Life
It occured to me that i have really just been describing what i have been doing on a daily basis and not about what thai culture is like. i will start with school. the kids come from villages all around, some a good 4o mins away. many of them either bring their scooters or get what i suppose could be called the school bus. it is basically a truck with seats at the sides facing each other. many of the boys sit on top of the bus but i am yet to see any girls. when in the school, all the students must bow or wai to the teachers as they pass. when they want to enter or leave the classroom they have to ask "may i come in please" or "may i go out please" this is for both the primary and secondary. it is a good way of showing respect i think though many of the kids just say it as a formaility and rarely actually wait for a reply.
there is a lot of eating and almost everything revolves around food. they dont even say "how are you?" they just say "gin kaow rien" which litterally means "eat rice yet". tbh thats all i can really hink of right now. i will try and come up with some more.
