So, i ahve a lot to catch up on

first of all, songkran. this was insane. literally a banging party on the street soaked to the bone with water for three days. i cannot explain it. walking from our guest house to 7/11 you had to walk through prosy lane who were particular fans of the nam yen (cold water). we went out every day with our giant waterguns, filling them up in giant tubs of water as we went. bumped into lots of people i had met in pai which is always fun. on the last day we joined a family in their pick up truck. we stood on the back whilst throwing buckets of water on everyone who was crowded onto the pavements. it was so amazing. and apart from the first day when it actually rained, the water was a welcome way of cooling down. the streets were flooded. you had to walk though about 8 inches of water when crossing the road. the beats were blaring out of masive speakers. evryone was dancing away as if it was a nightclub except it was midday, boiling and everyone was wet. the ultimate party.

then two overnight busses all the way back south. this was a orrific journey and fleur was unfortunately ill and threw up the entire first bus journey until we arrived in bkk at 4 in the morning. then we slept on the bus terminal floor for the whole day until our bus at 7 that night. unforunatley, the dirty moat water from songkran made many of us quite ill. half of us lost our voices, many ear aches and ear infections. but totally worth it.

then once down south we had the famouse full moon party. it was brlliant. the beach was packed to the brim of people. i dont even know how to explain it. sooooo busy and everyone was so drunk. there was actually a pass out area that was cornered of the metal gates for people who were too drunk to find their way home and wanted to sleep. although i didnt actually see it. thank fully nobody got outragiously drunk and nobody found themselves in a bad situation. by the end, there were only 4 of us left as everyone else had gone home. we were determined to stay for the sunrise which we successfully did. there were still people swaying and walking down the beach in search of thier friends. all the reastaurant were full at about 8 am when everyone decided they were hungry and wanted drunken snacks. it was so good though. and totally worth the hassle. howver i had been given red bull by a friend and therefore didnt get to sleep once we got back to our guesthouse. so i didnt properly sleep until the next night when i had about 15 hours straight.
