The Venetian.
Not a lot to say about today really, we spent most of the morning driving back from Los Angeles, finally arriving back about lunch time. After checking back into the Hostel we spent the day recovering from the last 2 hardcore nights before getting ready to go to Rhumbar in the mirage where we had been informed there was dancing that evening. Unfortunately we arrived to find that as the Dance floor was outside it had been cancelled due to the rain. Slightly disappointed we took this time to look around a couple more Casinos including the Venetian where we found a Canal on the Second floor surrounded by shops!! The canal is sufficiently big that during the day time you can take a gondola ride around it! There is also one outside in front of the building, but its not nearly as impressive as one thats upstairs! We also looked round Treasure Island which has two almost full size ships on the outside of the building which they use for the Sirens of TI show. Although inside it doesn't seem as impressive as the other casinos it does have several priceless pieces of art which must be worth about as much as the building itself! These include a solid Jade statue of a horse about 2ft high and a carved Mammoth tusk on which the detail is unbelievable!! Apparently this must have taken several generations to create and you can see the change in the style of armour on the figures showing the progression through the years. Feeling a bit tired from our drive we then headed back to the Hostel for the night at around 2am. time flies by quickly in Vegas, partly because there's always something going on and partly because although places look like they're right next door or just across the street, it actually takes you a good distance to get to them via the intricate walkways across the roads and the casinos themselves are like mazes, designed to keep you in as long as possible!!
