Lazy day & Exploring the 'Strip'
After a lovely long lie in until about 12 we couldn't tear ourselves away from the comfort of a cool room and a huge bed and so read our books for a couple of hours before deciding we should really do some laundry while we had some free time. We helped ourselves to free coffee whilst the washing was on and continued to read and relax until about 7pm when we eventually showered and got ready to go out. We headed down to the strip where we parked in the Bellagio car park. Inside we found a huge garden with many different types of flowers, topiary horses, a talking tree and a water mill and by huge we mean 30 feet or so in hight and probable 400 square foot. We then walked outside to watch the fountain show which runs every 15 mins. A spectacular choreographed display with water jets shooting 100 feet into the air. After that we walked along the strip looking at several other casinos including Paris complete with Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomph and Mongolfiere. The MGM Grand with it's HUGE gold lion statue and New York New York which includes a Statue of Liberty, Empire state building, Crysler Building, Brookling Bridge, an Irish pub which looked far more Irish than any other we've seen in America and roller-coaster which goes around the building. Despite all this we remained unconvinced as the floor had no holes in it, there were too few people and they were much too polite!! It was now time to head to the club so we headed back to the car, taking in another fountain show as we went and drove off to La Costa Grill where there was a Latin Night on. Went in to be instantly deafened by the music which was unbelievably loud! The club looked OK it had a reasonable floor however they seemed to only play reggaton in one room and Merengue in the other. Although we got a few salsas we were quickly exasperated and decided to leave around midnights. We then headed back to the strip to find something to eat and on the way took a look inside the Mirage which includes Secret Garden and a Dolphin Habitat!!! Being very tired by this point we headed back to the hostel for the night.
