We arrived at Kinka Beach and really didn't know what to expect. Our site was nice...but it was no Agnes Water. ;) We had been spoilt at our past site!
We didn't do much at Kinka Beach as we wanted to save our money for a good activity at Airlie Beach (our next stop). We just chilled at the site and did a lot of driving to see what was around.
In one direction there was Emu Park, a lovely little town that had the Singing Ship. It had organ pipes that made lots of different sounds when the wind came up through them. It was fantastic!! We enjoyed a walk around and lunch of a huge piece of fish and chips. yum! We also went to the museum that was very interesting.
We also went for a drive to Yeppoon, which was in the other direction. It was bigger than I expected! We only stopped there for a supermarket run as nothing really caught our eye.
We made our first homemade pizzas one night which were soooo good! There are pics in one of the albums.
There was a huge beach (Kinka Beach) that we took Charli for runs on. It wasn't the prettiest beach and we didn't really want to swim there so we just went for walks and took some fun photos.
On the last night we booked into the free BBQ at the park. We got there and there were about 60 people all there to sit, eat, drink and chat. We were asked by a younger group (in their early 50s) to come and sit with them. They were saying how they were finding it difficult to talk to some of the 'oldies.' We agreed to some extent...but you just talk about different things!! Anyway, when Charli began backing at the owner, we knew it was time to leave. haha
So, not the most exciting place to go but for 3 nights it wasn't too bad. We are ready to DO some more things...not just relax and walk on the beach. Not that I'm complaining. ;)
