Airlie Beach was fabulous! We only stayed 3 nights but we made sure those days were jam packed!

We decided to put Charli in the kennels so that we could go into town and not have to worry about her. We also wanted to do a tour and obviously we couldn't take her. We needed a break anyway.

So after we put her in doggy jail, we took a walk down the board walk to the Airlie Beach Markets. We thought they were quite close...but they weren't! We walked through the markets and I bought some little things. After that we went for a browse through the shops on the main street and Andy bought a new hat. We had a beverage and then made our way back to the caravan park.

After a bite to eat we jumped on our bikes and rode back into town to have a relax in the lagoon. It was lovely! We had a swim and relax before heading back again to the park. We had done A LOT of exercise that day so we had earned a beverage or two.

There were heaps of tours etc that we could go on and we decided on Rafting. We got picked up from the park and taken to the jetty where we waited to get on one of four boats. These boats were super fast and they sped us around the Whitsunday Islands. We pulled up in a little sheltered cove for our first snorkel. The water was a bit chilly but we soon forgot about that when we saw the beautiful coral! It was so bright and there were so many colours! After that place we went for a quick 4 minute drive to our next spot, which was all about the fish. We saw some HUGE fish that came right up to us!

After the snorkling we went for a half an hour (freezing) trip to a small beach. We jumped off the boat and headed through the bush to the lookout over Whitehaven beach. It was so amazing! The most beautiful view I have seen! I took a million photos and then we got to walk down onto the beach and we had a delicious lunch. Just before we left we went for a sting ray and shark watch. We saw heaps in the shallows that was quite scary!!!

We went for dinner that night to the local pub and it was 2-4-1 night! two steak dinners for $23! whoop! great deal!

So we really enjoyed our time in Airlie Beach. We picked up Charli the next morning to head to our next stop.
