The translator ;) The trip from Amphawa to Hua Hin was an experience in itself. I arrived at a bus-station that just comprised of a tent. The woman asked where I was going and I told her I was going to Hua Hin after which she said something I just couldn’t understand. But a local bus arrived and she made sure I got on it, and without being sure of where it was going to take me, I went along with it. I had to trust that she had put me on the right bus. I was dropped off at the main road/motorway where I was told to cross the road, something I would normally not dare (it was busy)!! But its like a walk in the park for them. Luckily there was a gentlemen who took me by the arm and helped me across when he saw me looking somewhat bewildered. I would never have dared back home, and actually not here either, but I had to. So I had to cross the first 3 lanes, and then the next 3 lanes. I did wonder if I would ever make it over, it was that busy! But on the other side there was a minibus to Hua Hin, and I took it. Relaxation – yes – but wow its hot! Hua Hin is somewhat different to Bangkok, a little more relaxed and a bit holiday resort-ish. The beach wasn’t far from where I was staying overnight (Tong-Mee guesthouse) and there was plenty of opportunity to relax. Lovely! Just what I needed. The heat has been almost unbearable, even in the shade. Air-conditioning and the breeze down by the sea has been a big help. I just had one night here. If I had been travelling with a friend, we would probably have spent a couple of days here, but it would be a bit lonely without because it isn’t a big Backpacker area. Right now I am sitting waiting for my bus, that leaves at 11:45pm (have to be there at 11pm) and I will be travelling to Koh Tao, where I will be staying for the next few days!
