Helt klart værd at opleve.

The translator ;) From Bangkok to Amphawa In the morning, I was moving on, and in 7-Eleven, where I was buying some water, I avoided yet another scam. There are people who are just waiting to take advantage of naïve tourists, and they appear to be really helpful and friendly, but actually the only thing they do is make sure you pay a lot more money than you need to. They almost always start by asking you where you are going, and where you are from, and probably have a story to tell about the place you are going. But then they tell you to take a túk-túk to the tourist office, where you can buy a ticket. The only thing to do is to be friendly, but refuse their help. From there, I took a taxi to Victory Monument, where I was taking the minibus to Amphawa . It wasn’t quite as easy as I had expected. Victory Monument was just total chaos. I had to go round asking and was sent from one place to another, with the help of pointed fingers. When I still couldn’t find where I was supposed to be, I asked a young girl, who showed me to the tent where I could buy a bus ticket. Floating Market and homestay When I got to Amphawa I again had the feeling of not knowing where to start. I had to find a place to sleep, and luckily a woman came cycling by and offered a homestay. Maybe a little on the expensive side, but I said yes as it was still cheap compared to Danish prices, and I didn’t want to risk not having a place to stay. I put my backpack in the room, which I could lock, luckily, and went to Amphawa floating market. It was really busy, but it was a fantastic atmosphere, so I just took it all in. There was loads of delicious food, and other things to look at. The streets were lit up in the evening, with music in the background. Definitely worth a visit! Afterwards I went back to the place I was staying. The noise continued outside, so it wasn’t easy, but at some point I managed to fall asleep. I have now experienced my first homestay and it was a little weird. The lady who had the room didn’t speak English (It was the woman on the cycle who had showed me round) and the standard was a little different to what I am used to, but the room was clean, clean bedlinen, blankets and towels. There was a western style toilet, but it wasn’t possible to flush, so it was a manual affair with a cup that you had to use to pour water into the toilet. It was possible to have a bath/shower, but I didn’t use it..
