We have now arrived at the popular town of Karumba - 'where the outback meets the sea'. Along the way we have explored the gold mining town of Croydon, which boasted a population of 7000 people and 16 hotels in the late 1800's. However, the cemetery tells the story of the harsh conditions they had to endure. We have camped in some different places, historic Cumberland chimney, by a river with ?crocodiles and spoilt in a caravan park with a pool! We have met up with a lovely couple, Bob & Val and shared our camp ideas and food (yummy redclaw) as well as helping them with some car problems. A nice young man, Tim (travelling alone from Broome to Cairns) camped alongside us last night so we shared a meal and campfire stories. Karumba is renowned for its fishing and spectacular sunsets so I'm sure we won't be disappointed. Were all set with a feed of prawns and some fresh fish for our entree and dinner tonight. Alf has been asked to go along fishing tomorrow with Bob, so, fingers crossed they will come back with a barramundi!!
