Before we embarked on the 'official' Oodnadatta track, we hsd a stopover at Dalhousie Springs on the edge of the Simpson Desert. It was so lovely to soak in the warm (37 degrees) water when the weather was quite cool, as well as an early morning dip before setting off on the road again. After spending almost 2 weeks exploring the Eyre Peninsula with its amazing coastline, farming communities, 'Misery mountain' and Anxious Bay, we have arrived on the edge of the nullarbor at Ceduna. Alf has been able to celebrate his birthday here with a seafood treat and we've caught up on washing and shopping ready for our trip across the nullarbor (meaning a 'treeless plain'). All we can say is 'Wow' after traveling up the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula. This side of the peninsula is so different than the east - towering cliffs, rugged coastline, wild seas, remote beaches, white sand dunes and an abundance of birdlife. Every day we've seen so many amazing features on our drive as well as found some great little isolated camp sites.
