For the last leg of our journey back to Brisbane, we have mostly stayed close to the coast, enjoying some sleepy little inlets between Rockhampton and Gympie. Our first stop after the Whitsundays was a great little 'free camp' right on the beach with great views from our van, however, after a walk up the beach, we returned to find a 4WD with backpackers camped directly in front of us between the van and the beach Obviously they haven't heard of camp 'etiquette'! We then had a similar situation at a dam a few nights later, with 2 backpacker vans arriving late at night and parking only a short distance away from us when there was a huge grassy area with no other campers!!
We have never been to Yeppoon, so it was nice to have a couple of nights relaxing in a park overlooking the beach and enjoying the beach walks and a swim in the ocean. We even met another 'Spinifex' caravan owner, Mark & Gaylene and shared some stories together. Then a few nights at lovely Woodgate and Tin Can Bay before being 'honoured' guests at Mark & Janelle's new home in Gympie. What a lovely, picturesque property to relax and unwind. I nicknamed it 'Chateaux Relaxo'!!
So now it's back home in Brisbane for about 6 weeks to enjoy the company of our boys for the Christmas break
