So it seemed like Chicago was coming out of winter and into summer time. We had beautiful weather last week with sun splitting the skies and temperatures in the mid 20's. On monday however we had snow. It was insane! It is still pretty chilly at around 10 degrees.
Aside from wacky weather we had a few exciting occurances in the last week. Last Monday there was a bomb scare at DePaul and we had to be evacuated from the building on the middle of class, it was a little scary. Thankfully nothing happened!
On Friday we had an amazing conference about the International Criminal Court. They had some really important speakers there including the President of the ICC, the chief Prosecutor of the ICC as well as 2 high level US government people all in the same room as well as lots of professors and experts from all over the world. It was a fantastic experience to hear them all talk about the work the ICC is doing and where it should go in the next few years.
I am working hard on my assignments and projects that I have due in in the next few weeks. And I have to get as much done as possible by tomorrow, because Cathy is coming to visit for 10 days. I am so excited to get to show her Chicago and to do some of the things I haven't had time to do yet. It is amazing how you don't do the touristy things when you live somewhere. A lot of the DePaul students havent done the Sears Tower or the Field Museum, and I have only done each one once.
The job front is still undecided. I didn't get the summer scholarship so I am looking for either a second part time or a full time job, probably here in Chicago. Wish me luck!
I hope all is well at home.
