A big day today, down to Stirling to see the castle then onto Hawick via the Falkirk Wheel.
Whilst the clouds had started to lift there was still plenty of water around and we even saw snow on a couple of the hills!
Stirling Castle was impressive both due to its age and it's position in the landscape, unfortunately it is one of the most touristy spots we had been at on the trip with busses and people everywhere. That said we still hand an enjoyable 3 hours just wandering about. The view across to the Wallace memorial is pretty impressive.
Then onto Falkirk and a look at the famous wheeled lock in operation. Have to say it is every bit as impressive on the flesh as what you see in the photos or on line.
The trip onto Hawick and the B&B was made interesting with the last few miles being done on back roads through open paddocks with cows and sheep wandering around everywhere (we got held up by some cows who thought the road was a better place to trot along than the grass).
