Day 3 and still in shorts.
A short trip today from Glenfarg to Crieff. First stop was the Hermitage Trail at Dunkeld which gave us a chance to walk off some of the breakfasts we have been having (speaking of which had nice black pudding this morning). Unfortunately the rain started to turn up as well. The Hermitage has a couple of nice waterfalls to see and luckily one of the exiting cards gave us their parking ticket so a win all around.
Next stop was Dewars World of Whisky in Aberfeldy and a distillery tour and tastings. Dewars have a nice selection of Tayside single malts and blends with the highlight being the 21 year old Aberfeldy single malt and tasting a 25 year old single malt straight from the cask. A nice way to end the day.
Newstead B&B in Crieff was nice and certainly the owner Marion is a character. Her recommended Thai restaurant was good for dinner last night (love the idea of having Thai in the Scottish highlands).
Today saw us go to Loch Earn, well we were actually aiming for Deils Caldron but missed the turn off. Anyhow back tracked to Comrie and went up to the waterfalls, again a nice walk to get rid of breakfast. Then back to the coffee shop in Comrie for drinks and cakes. Next stop was Drummond Castle gardens, which were very ornamental and certainly designed to be viewed from the heights of the castle. The little bit of rain we had in the morning held off for long enough to have a good look around. One of the other touristy spots in Crieff is there Christmas shop, styled along the same lines as the ones in Rothenburg although no where near as big.
At the end of day 4 still in shorts although not for much longer I feel given we are heading up Loch Ness way.
