Day 3: Friday 28th Dec
First thing on today's agenda... CLIMBING THE EIFFEL TOWER! and boy was it amazing! 669 steps to the second level and it worth every one of them! The view was sensational! I could see all of Paris and ah, just amazing! Definitely recommend putting 'climbing the Eiffel Tower' on your list of things to do before you die :D stayed up there for a while, took a million and one photos and then took the lift down:)
Then caught the bus over to the Arc de Triumph, which, until today, I did not know was sooooooo huge!! Was incredible to see:) again, took hundreds of pictures and then walked down part of the Champs-Élysées for some shopping and lunch. We ate McDonalds today, very french I know... Not. Hahaha but it did have its own twist! There was an 'easypay' area, where you placed your order on a computer type thing, kind of like a coles self serve check out but it didn't say 'Thank you for shopping at McD's'. Surprise surprise, it tasted the same! Was absolutely packed in their so ate fast and continued down the 'avenue de Champs-Élysées.
After our shopping time we took the bus over '_____', to visit the 'Jardins de Luxembourg' buuuuut got there 3 minutes late and the gates were shut. Did look very pretty though from the outside though and huge! :)
Descended back down the _______ and to the Notre Dame. Didn't go inside cause I went on my first day in France. Was very beautiful on the outside this time round, as it was night and was all lit up:)
Time for dinner, tonight we ate in PARIS :) my shout for tea as a thank you to my host family for bringing me to Paris. Dinner was nice! Funny, old, Italian men served us who spoke French and English also. Most of us had fondue for dinner, I shared with Florent- Fondue au chèvre. Was soooo good!! First time eating it for both of us :)
After dinner we went and found the car, drove back round to the Champs-Élysées, parked and wandered down part of this magical avenue. As it was only Christmas a few days ago (feels like a month ago already!), all the lights are still up and the avenue just looks beautiful, took bulk photos of course! There is also a market on at the moment for Christmas and there was so much yummy smelling, sweet food being sold, LUCKILY I was full from dinner or I would not have been able to resist buying something ha!!
Absolutely knackered after today, and my feet are killing me!
Last morning in Paris tomorrow, I don't want to leave!! But we are, at about noon-ish! :(
