First night in Marrekesh we went to a vegetarian resturant with Paul and Jay. Keeley was celebrating feeling well again. It was good food and big portions helped down with wine provided generously by Paul and Jay. A good first night in Marrekesh.
In the morning set off for a wander starting with the big mosque and a stop at the cyber park where I could update the ipod while sitting in the sun. We then headed deep into the Medina an interesting place we did actually buy ourselves a little something and some chocolate mice and an ice cream a productive and healthy day. In the main square we saw what passed for entertainment in Morocco old men hitting each other with sticks followed by ten year olds boxing. These were not play boxing no helmets and blood flowed. We did not stay too long not sure its quite right, but better than the snake charmers and monkey men. We ate local on the square with the guys again I liked my food but everyone else disapointed.
Next day went to the cyber park again this time spent our time looking at an outdoor photography exhibit of photos from all around the globe. Most of the pictures were amazing and we spent longer than expected in the park. Afterwards we headed to the new town for a drink (bar closed) and to see some art galleries (closed) we went back to the medina. This time bought another couple of things. We also went to the Bahia Palace which was housing a modern art exhibit. Nearly all of it was rubbish but did like the installation with giant furniture. Keeley would not let me climb onto the giant chair. That night had a few drinks with a couple of french people from the hotel. We went to a book shop/cafe/bar that was open to the stars another nice night out in Marrekesh.
