Up early in the morning again. I was sat on the back of the pick-up on a homemade wheelchair, surrounded by crates and bags. It was a cool way to travel but I did get a lot of strange looks and I think some people must of thought it was a bit cruel to put the disabled man in the back. We were dropped off just where the minibuses went to the border. We were crushed in the minibus with our bags I was much more comfy in the wheelchair.
We crossed the border got to Chipata and decided that as we needed to make up sometime we woud go straight onto Lusaka. We had three hours to wait for the bus so we went to find some food. Not much in the way of vegetarian Keeley had to make do with cold chips and seema.
We arrived in Lusaka after midnight thought about waiting in the bus station for the first bus to Livingstone. In the end we opted for hostel and bed and next morning seeing nothing of Lusaka we made it to Livingstone. The first place we stopped at had no mosquito nets but lots of Mosquitos so we left. We ended up in Fawlty Towers a very nice hostel with mosquito nets and a communal kitchen. We went shopping as would get to cook for ourselves for the next few days.
First day in Livingstone we went to Victoria falls. It is dry season at the moment but the falls were still impressive but not as impressive as Igussa. The funniest bit was clambering over the top of the falls you could see right over the edge. Keeley was waiting for me and almost lot her bag to a Baboon. People all screamed and the Baboon dropped it leaving just his slavia.
Second full day we rested had a nice pool to swim around in not as good as the lake. The main thing we did was book the rafting.
White water rafting today. There were six of us to start with but only me and Keeley doing the full day. It was great from the start huge rapids big waves we almost came out a few times but unlike all the other rafts at half way we had all remained in the raft. After it was just me and Keeley we hit rapid 13 and flipped. The first two times I cane up I was under the raft still not a pleasant experience, when I did manage to get on the right side of the raft I lost my paddle went for it lost hold of the raft and floated away. Keeley was still holding on but for some reason just let go, think she must of wanted to join me. We both picked up by kayaks and taken back to the raft. At rapid 18 the raft wad tipping again when I guide threw himself from the back to the front righting the raft. A good guide and a great day hope to do some more white water rafting soon. Botswana next seen little of Zambia but the people been very friendly will have to come back.
