Arrived in Casablanca bereft of sleep still cannot sleep on a plane. Have to say that so far Qatar airlines are the best airline I have flown with. Good service, good food, good entertainment and smooth landings. We were picked up at the airport by our hotel. We had chosen to stay at a nice hotel for our first two nights. The hotel was nice but not as nice as we were expecting for the price. It was after five when we arrived and went to sleep almost straight away.
The next day we did the first half of a walking tour, we got a little lost. We then headed to Hassan 2nd Mosque. On the way we walked passed the city walls and a Squala at the end with cannons intact. Keeley was struggling by this point as she had walked into a peice of metal damaging her toe. She struggled on to the mosque. This is a relatively new building but none the less imposing, it was massive with a great setting on the edge of the sea. Just looking at it from outside enough for Keeley but I wanted to do the tour inside. Inside it was equally impressive a huge prayer room with a giant retractable roof. Downstairs the aboloutions room looked like something form a roman emperors palace. We were encouraged to take pictures which in most mosques is actively discouraged or banned. Keeleys toe was feeling a bit better and we managed to walk to the hotel we stopped en-route for some lunch. The first place we stopped at did no vegetarian food so we left. The next place we ordered some nice salads. It was then that Keeley noticed I no longer had the camera. In a panic I ran all the way back and luckily it was still there. We did the other half of the walking tour this part was more interesting some grand buildings. The park however had a bit too much concrete and roads going through it for my liking. Bus tickets bought for tomorrow.
