Day 33 - Cooktown, QLD
Sunday 15th November
Fishing early in the morning!
Caught a little queen fish and brought him home to cook up later for dinner.
Had a swim in the pool, checked out the botanical gardens and the gallery they had there, then up to the grass hill lookout for 360 degree views of Cooktown, the ocean and the mouth of the endeavour river and ranges behind.
We then headed off to the Lions Den Hotel for lunch (about 30k's out the road). Matt, Rach and Sonny joined us for the afternoon.
We then returned to camp, grabbed the rods again and a few beers and headed back down the wharf to try our luck again. The weather was much windier and we had no luck.
Headed back before the sun went down so I could try my hand at filleting a fish for the first time! Where would we be without YouTube! 2 beautiful fillets cut up into small bits, breadcrumbed and into the pan for entree to share with the neighbours! Taste was amazing, started to enjoy this hunting and gathering lifestyle!
