Today, we head to the Freycinet Peninsula, to walk to Wineglass Bay. Supposedly one of the prettiest beaches in the world.

The first thing we're met with in the car park, is a friendly wallaby. Must be used to people in this part of the world.

So, we head off on the walk. More wallabies on route, and we hit the beach. It's pretty, that's for sure. Not sure about it being one of the best in the world, but it's certainly striking. Blue water, white sand, and the green mountains sure make for an awesome combination. It's just a pity we have to walk another 2 hours to get back to the car!

Aftweards, we head to to Bicheno, our camp for the night, and also where we are to go off walking through a penguin rookery.

The penguins used to be known as 'fairy penguins' because they're the smallest species. It would appear they took offence, as they're now known as 'little blue penguins'. We watch the little b*****s come in from their day at seem, and walk up the beach to their nests, where they have babies wating for them. It's great to watch. They gather in groups before they make a bee line across the beach, in case there's a predator waiting for them. They then take a couple of rest stops as they climb the hill. We're told the rest stops are always in the same places!

Anyway, we continue around the beach, to see some of their entry points, and have a look at a couple of nests, amid cries of 'careful, there's a penguin just behind you' or 'don't step there!'. It's good fun, and you do get up close and personal with the little b*****s.
