Today, we returned from the delta, and took to the air in an optional activity. $45 for a 45min flight over the Okavango Delta. It's awesome. You see so much. The Delta is enormous, and full of animals. I spent so long staring down my camera lens, I nearly made myself airsick, I had to stop and look and the big picture. Yesterday, was a non event. We spent all day on the road, (more or less) driving from Kasane to Maun. Today however, we are heading into the Okavango Delta. (aka Swamp!) We start the morning by boarding our Makoros, which are a type of dugout canoe. We have pollers, that 'punt' was through the reeds to our camp site for the night. I use the term campsite loosely. It's a clearing just inside the samp, and that's it. No toilet, no running water...nothing. ...

Another early start, and off the the Chobe National Park Interesting thing about Botswana's National Parks, is that there are no fences. Animals are free to roam in and out if they wish. This morning game viewing is a bit of a let down. Turns out the open fence policy means the animals are off somewhere else, and we don't see much. A few giraffes and some impala, but that's about it. 1st November, we spent travelling up from Nata to Kasane. Today, we cross the Chobe river into Zambia. This crossing marks the point where 4 countries meet: Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Also, where two rivers meet: the Chobe flows into the Zambezi.
