Mikahla's Adventures Abroad
Just a news flash - I have a new teacher...again! I was pretty sad about losing the other guy, because he was really cool, but this new guy is great! He is a great teacher and a funny guy. He's got lots of positive energy and is very educated. He is interested in languages and speaks English as well as Castillano and Catalan and is learning French right now. He is interested in culture and literature - especially Spanish.
Heads up for all who don't know - there are more than one kinds of Spanish, and I am not just talking about accents or regional dialecs. Catalan is like a regional dialect, it is from the south-eastern part of Spain called Cataloña. Catalan is a bit like Spanish and has some aspects of French, but it is a language all of its own. they speak Catalan in Barcelona, but they all speak Castillano as well. This makes them all bilingual. Everyone I have asked so far prefers Catalan to Castillano, but they speak Castillano around me(most of the time) so that I can understand them.
P.S. I took this photo in one of the gardens around Montjuic.
