The world is my school. Today my classroom is, at a beach and in a kayak, in Akoura, South Island, NZ.
This time I had a very early a very early start and made pancakes and eggs! Well technically I made the eggs and Captain-O made the pancakes. They were both very good. Once we entirely consumed breakfast, we started off for the beach. On the way we ran into a kayak rental centre next to an ice-cream parlor. S0 while we were choosing flavors for ice cream Daddy booked us some kayaking. We quickly ate our ice cream, and then headed to the beach to get on our kayaks. I was in a double with Captain-O, Rosie Meets World was with Mom, and Dad was alone in his big blue kayak. I kept thinking to myself how the pedals at the bottom of the kayak work. Then I saw ropes connected to the pedals and the rudder. Then I tried and when I push on the pedal the rope gets pulled and because they are connected, the rope pulls the rudder to one side and turns the kayak.
I felt like the only one paddling in my kayak because Olivia was going at a seriously slow pace, while I was paddling as fast as the Road Runner. I eventually swapped with my Dad and got my own kayak. I liked this kayak much better, because once I put my oar in the water or paddled to one side so I could turn, it would react right away. I went much, much faster.
After a while of that we headed to a more popular beach just down the road. At this beach there was a floating platform for you to jump off of or just sit on and relax. I spent most of my time on the shore playing with the sand.
Our last day on the South Island. I am going to miss it here. If I were to choose any place to move to when I grow up it would be here.
