At one time, a rather pungent smell wafted past our noses, these creatures were clearly so relaxed with us they were happy to "fart" in front of us, just like one of the family. My god it stank; think of a repulsive fusion of bad eggs with off fish ... Yuk! NB. Sadly, as I mentioned earlier, both my iPhone and camera were destroyed by the water/rain on the boat (silly bean that I am) - so I've had to resort to using someone else's photos to show what kind of show played out aloft the pencil grey waters of the Arctic before our very eyes today.
