Chasing tails, whales & northern lights in 2015

The lure of trying a Scandinavian open sandwich, before we leave, is too much, so at one of the airports on the way back, I’m afraid I succumbed. Essentially the Smørbrød is a piece of buttered bread (which I left, being gluten intolerant), topped with steak, shrimps, smoked salmon, hard boiled eggs, bacon, herring, fish fillets, liver …
And so to Tromsø, 350 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle; capital of the Arctic surrounded by beautiful fjords and mountains. We're about to embark on a journey to savour the land of the midnight sun, gawk at breathtaking Fjords, gasp at the spectacular whales breaching the coldest Arctic waters and perhaps partake in a little light dog sledding. dawn Wow T - just caught up with your blog. I didn't know you were going to Tromso. That's where I went 3 years ago - amazing place. Didn't see the whales though - missed something special there so will have to go again one day!! Looks like you've had an awesome New Year.
