Will-and-Marge's Great Adventure to Alaska
Time Leaving: 7:20 a.m. Temp.: 35 High 62 Miles today: 435
States/Territory Today: Yukon and ALASKA!
Accrued miles to Date: 4538
Saying for the day: If a door closes, quit banging on it, maybe it closed because you are worth so much more than what's on the other side.
Leaving a bit earlier today, as we have a few more miles to go. We decided to go on to Alaska today.
The snow covered mountains in the distance with the cloud formations hovering above them like a downy blanket, almost have an ethereal look about them. Absolutely magnificent.
We continue to see so many acres of the Stunted Spruce, and lots of bunnies, with extra furry white feet. There are also many Arctic Ground squirrels, a type of Prairie Dog, running all along the side of the road – who knew! Many ponds and lakes with the Merganser Ducks just bobbing along.
Passing Kluane (Clue-Aw-nee) Lake an enormous, ice covered lake; we drive alongside it for miles.
See Dall sheep on the mountain in front of us while crossing one of the rivers that feed the lake.
Stop for lunch with blue skies and sun; come out of the trailer and the wind is blowing real cold and we have snow flurries that change to rain. And now we can see it’s snowing ******* the mountains.
2:13 pm – ARRIVE IN ALASKA!! No problem at the border, no food taken, just a reminder to 'sign’ our passports, which I guess we forgot to do…!
Arrive Tok at 4 pm.
TOK RV Village, Tok, Alaska Staying 2 nights
