Saying for the day: Everyone wants to live on the mountain top, but all of the happiness and growth occur while you're climbing.
The skies are a clear blue and cloudless once again today, Denali in full view once again. We're told this is rare. Away to Anchorage today and we get one more rearview mirror look at Denali. Along the way we stopped at Kashwitna Lake for a photo op and surprise (!) there's Denali one more time. We've been so blessed to see her in so many different settings.
Pass through Wasilla, home of Sarah Palin and on to Anchorage.
See Fort Richardson Army Base; "U.S. Army Alaska, Privileged to Serve."
Lots and lots of Moose Caution signs, more signs than moose. We saw none on our way here.
Anchorage is home to Elmendorf AFB, populated by 42, 000 airmen and their families. Anchorage is a city of 300,000 people. We're not used to all of these people around.
Arrive Anchorage, Alaska at 12:15 pm Staying for 3 nights
Next stop: Williwa, Alaska (near Whittier)

June Chamberlin Gosh, imagine a home on that lake, with that view!
June Chamberlin No Palin sightings?
June Chamberlin Glad that's all he did! Must get pretty boring for troopers out on that road with not much traffic...
