MATT: We get to Kaiteriteri quite late in the afternoon...but although the camperpark is big, it is pretty nice...so we settle in and relax. A short stroll to the beach and book up for the following days activity...a full days kayaking up the coast line of the Abel Tasmin National Park.
In the morning we are up early and meet the kayak guides on the beach, before long we are all sorted and in our kayaks folowing our guide - Scotty - a very friendly young Kiwi guy who looks a bit like Schwarzenegger.
We have a great day on the water as the weather and water are fantastic...and after about 8 hours on the water (with a couple of beach stops) we are exhausted and very happy with the experience. That evening we are home in our campervan bed sleeping a well deserved sleep while the wind blows and the temperature drops. We are heading south from here...and it is getting colder with every mile...and we found out today that has snowed in Queenstown - where we will be in a few days time.
Next day we are off again...on the road and heading south to glacier country...more miles on breathtaking, twisting mountain roads or across open plains punctuated by orchards and vineyards. Already the South Island is raising its game in the scenery stakes...and there is so much more to come...
